The Canadian Health Coalition (CHC) was created at the S.O.S Medicare conference to provide a unified voice to ensure that the best possible health care would be made available for all Canadians. Unions join with the churches, health care professionals, women, and consumers to form the CHC. Prior to this date, national organizations were lobbying on an individual basis, urging for the enactment of a national, comprehensive health care program for all Canadians however, the unilateral efforts were not successful.
