Canadian Health Coalition presents Prime Minister Jean Chrétien with “Implement Romanow” Petition. Prior to the First Ministers’ meeting on health care, Canadian Health Coalition National Coordinator Michael McBane, along with Carolyn Bennett and other Liberal Members of Parliament, presented Prime Minister Jean Chrétien with a printed version of the on-line “Implement Romanow” petition. The internet petition, which contains over 42,000 signatures, calls on the Chrétien Government to take action and immediately implement the Romanow Report on the Future of Health Care in Canada.
Coalition Presents PMO with Thousands of Save Medicare Postcards
On December 10, 2002, members of the Nova Scotia Citizens’ Health Care Network and Prince Edward Island Health Coalition presented 90,000 signed postcards in support of Medicare to the Prime Minister’s Office. The postcards call on government to take action to protect and enhance Medicare, starting by immediately endorsing the Romanow Report on the Future of Health Care.
