Guardians of Public Health Care Awards

These awards aim to recognize the tremendous work of their recipients on an issue related to protecting and expanding public health care that has a national focus or national implications.

Who can be nominated?

There are three categories for these awards: community, labour and academic. Labour candidates must be active members of a Canadian union. Academic candidates must be affiliated with a Canadian educational institution. Community candidates must have worked to create change in a Canadian community.

Anyone can nominate a candidate for these awards.

The deadline to submit nominations is March 1, 2019.

How are the award recipients selected?

The Canadian Health Coalition will review the nominations and select the award recipients.

Announcement of the successful candidates

The successful candidates will be invited to travel to Ottawa to receive their awards at the Canadian Health Coalition’s 40th anniversary gala on April 2, 2019.

What will the successful candidates receive?

The successful candidates will receive a Guardian of Public Health Care Award and a certificate.
